GUWAHATI: The 14-year-old girl from the Bakrapara locality in the Basistha area of Guwahati who was registered missing on January 14, 2024 and rescued later from Ghaziabad was found to be not kidnapped..
The father of the victim had lodged an FIR on the same day.
On January 18, the missing girl was rescued from Ghaziabad.
Talking to GPlus, a source close to the girl stated, "The girl has returned to her home."
However, speaking to GPlus, an official from Basistha Police Station stated, "It is probably a love affair. The 19-year-old boy took the girl to Ghaziabad. As per the girl's statement on 22 January, she was not kidnapped."
The 19-year-old boy is under judicial custody.
Further investigation is underway.
