Miscreants Storm Into Journalist’s Residence In Guwahati And Set Bike On Fire

 

GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, unidentified miscreants on Monday night stormed into the residence of a journalist in a media organization in Guwahati and set a bike on fire that was parked inside the campus.

The incident happened around 10:30 PM in the Shantipur Professor Colony area of Guwahati and the journalist has been identified as Geetasri Talukdar.

Geetasri tweeted, “Liquor bottles were hurled at my Santipur residence yesterday night, some were targetted at my brother, and his bike was set on fire. Horrible night we had yesterday! Help @assmpolice @GuwahatiPol @gpsinghips”

Speaking to G Plus, she said, “At first the miscreants threw bottles at our verandah.

When my brother went outside to check, another bottle was thrown at him which he narrowly escaped.

When he went down the stairs, he saw his bike was set ablaze. The perpetrators managed to escape in the chaos, but the damage was done.”

She further added, “We were left reeling with shock and fear as we tried to piece together what had just happened.”

Immediately after the incident, Talukdar lodged an FIR at Bharalumukh Police Station.

Talking to G Plus, the Officer-In-Charge of Bharalumukh Police Station said, “FIR has been lodged. We are looking into the matter. The police have launched a massive manhunt to identify and arrest the miscreants.”

Further investigation is underway.
