GUWAHATI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections will be held in India from next month, with April 19 announced as the polling date of phase-1.
The Lok Sabha elections would be held in seven phases.

The ECI has announced the election dates on March 16 in a press conference at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, The press conference was attended by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, along with the recently appointed Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu.
The Chief Election Commissioner urged people to vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, asking voters to “get inked” in the press conference.
