GUWAHATI: Former Supreme Court judge Justice Madan B. Lokur, former High Court Chief Justice A.P. Shah, and veteran journalist N. Ram have extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to participate in a public debate for the Lok Sabha Election 2024.

The invitation letter, shared by Ram on his 'X' social media handle, highlighted that the public has largely heard allegations and challenges from both sides without meaningful responses. The invitation noted that in today's digital world, there is a significant propensity for misinformation, misrepresentation, and manipulation, emphasising the need for a well-informed public debate ahead of the elections.

The letter emphasised that a non-partisan and non-commercial platform would allow citizens to hear from the political leaders themselves, aiding them in making informed decisions during the electoral process.
