GUWAHATI: A leopard spotted roaming freely near GMCH on Wednesday, has raised concerns among residents in the area. It has also been reported to be preying on smaller animals nearby, thus creating a situation of panic among the locals.

In response to alerts by the locals, Guwahati forest department officials took action to address the situation. They installed a trap cage at 4:30 pm yesterday, hoping to rescue the distressed animal.

Talking to GPlus, a forest official said, "The cage is still in place, and now we have to wait and see if the leopard will be captured."
