GUWAHATI: Kolkata Knight Riders won their third IPL title defeating SunRisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in an anticlimax of a final in Chennai, on Sunday, May 26.

SRH managed a mere 113 runs, the lowest ever in an IPL final,  after batting first leaving KKR to just complete the formalities, which they did with aplomb in 10.3 overs losing only two wickets.

For SRH, it was ironic, for they had the top two scores of 287 and 277 besides a 266 in IPL 2024, and to finish on such a note must be hurting.
At the end, it was a one-sided match.

After SRH folded up for 113, KKR didn't need a second invitation,  going well beyond the halfway mark to victory in the first power play scoring 72 for 1, thanks to an explosive Venkatesh Iyer who scored 40 from 12 balls in that period before going on to finish unbeaten with a half-century.

But before that, KKR bowlers had handed the match on a platter to their batters after all six of them had wickets to their credit.
KKR was consistent in their journey to the final.

Chennai proved lucky for KKR in IPL finals for the second time on Sunday. The team had won in 2012 defeating home team Chennai Super Kings.
