GUWAHATI: The Royal Bengal tiger which had made its way to human-inhabited areas to escape the dreaded floods in the Kaziranga National Park was provided a safe passage to the forests.
In light of the news, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal praised the efforts of the Forest Department officials and the Wildlife Trust of India, who were the first to bring the plight of the flood-affected feline to attention.
The Chief Minister wrote on Twitter: “Wonderful job by forest dept, @wti_org_india and others. The Royal Bengal Tiger, which took shelter in human habitation near the Kaziranga National Park due to floods, was provided safe passage to the forests.”
Earlier on July 18, a Royal Bengal Tiger had entered a house and was seen relaxing on the bed of a resident.
