Delving into Assamese cinema with a very strong storyline and cinematic look, Joy Hanu Man, directed by Himanshu Prasad Das ticks off many points which are not very often regarded highly in Jollywood. Marking it's territory in the mystery-thriller-action category, this film released on October 18 with huge success, and audiences praising the courage of the director to bring such kind of film into the Assamese industry.

The story revolves around a college boy, Jay (Siddharth Boro) who, in order to find the murderer of a dear one, has to fight an evil political gangster nexus in the disguise of 'Hanuman', the famous Monkey God as per Hindus.
Jay, a simple college going student, gets the nickname "Hanuman" for his habit of playing Hanuman, the Monkey-god's character in college plays. His simple life takes a wild turn when he loses a dear friend one night out of the blue, in a police encounter. Things turn weirder when he realises that his friend was being wrongly framed in a rape case. Getting help from a college senior and a lady journalist, Jay sets out to seek the truth, without realising that it would suck him into a complex nexus of the politically connected crime world, leading him to a life and death situation.
The film stars debutante Siddharth Boro, Joy Kashyap, and Amrita Gogoi in pivotal roles. It also stars Pranami Bora, Bibhuti Bhushan Hazarika, Geetawali Rajkumari, Annanya Kashyap, and others. The actors are superb in their rules and Siddhartha shines in his role, and seems like he has prepared well for his debut.
The music by Basshole deserves absolute praise, while the editing by Uddipta Kumar Bhattacharyya, and cinematography by Chandra Kumar Das is top notch as per Assamese cinema standards. The action direction by Pankaj Soram will leave you stunned and keep you glued to your seats. Written by Himanshu Prasad Das, Adhiraj Kashyap and Santanu Rowmuria, the story has a deeper meaning and is very well thought. Produced under the banner of DK Hospitality, Dhaneshwar Kalita has debuted as producer with this film.
