GUWAHATI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jayanta Malla Baruah has been appointed as the Political Secretary to the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma (as the leader of the BJP Legislative Party) on Tuesday, May 11.
Earlier, Bimal Bora served as the Secretary of the legislature party and now Jayanta Malla Baruah has been appointed for the post as Bora took oath as a Cabinet Minister of Government of Assam on May 10. This was notified by BJP party president Ranjeet Dass.
Baruah took to Twitter to share the news, he wrote, "I’m happy to inform you that today the Hon’ble President of @BJP4Assam, Shri @RanjeetkrDass has formally appointed me as the Political Secretary to the leader of the BJP Legislative Party (Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam)."
"I would like to thank the Hon'ble State President and Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam as well as the party leaders for giving me such an important responsibility. In the days to come I promise to carry out my responsibilities diligently with the blessings of everyone," Baruah added.
