Jasprit Bumrah Becomes No.1 Test Bowler In The World: ICC

GUWAHATI: Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah reached the no.1 spot on Test bowlers rankings today on Wednesday, according to the latest rankings displayed on the official website of the International Cricket Council (ICC). 

The bowler achieved this feat for the first time following his 9-wicket haul in the second test against England which also earned him the Player of the Match title. 

Ravichandran Ashwin, who previously held the no.1 spot, dropped down to third position on the list as he managed to take three wickets in the second test match against England which India won by 106 runs on Tuesday, February 6. 

The second test match also saw a thrilling display of batting prowess by cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal, who became the third youngest Indian cricketer to score a double century in tests after cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar and Vinod Kambli. 

India is now set to face England in the third Test match at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
