GUWAHATI: The 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin from today with the opening ceremony slated to be held at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.

The IPL opening ceremony will begin from 6:30 pm and will have performances from actors Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, along with singer Sonu Nigam and globally acclaimed composer AR Rahman.

The first match of the tournament will feature Chennai Super Kings, the defending champions, playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Yesterday, the captains of the nine IPL teams were presented, along with the new team jerseys, on the official social media handle of IPL.
