GUWAHATI: The newly elected 51st Board of Directors (2020-21) of the Lions Club of Gauhati was virtually installed through Zoom Webinar on June 28, 2020. The Past International Director Lion G.S. Hora was the Installation Officer and Lion Sudhir Choudhary, District Governor, 322G was the chief guest of the program.
The New Board was installed under the leadership of Lion Kishore Saboo as President, Lion Dilip Saraf as Secretary and Lion Rajesh Burakia as Treasurer for the Lionistic Year 2020-21.
The Virtual Installation Program was attended by Past International Director Lion GS Hora; Lion Vinod Mohunta, Vice Council Chairperson (Elect) MD322; Lion Raj Kumar Agarwal, GST Coordinator, MD322; Galaxy of Past District Governors Lion DP Bajaj, , Lion SS Harlalka, Lion Amar Barooah, Lion LN Agarwal, Lion ML Agarwal, Lion RK More, Lion SK Dhar, Vice District Governor I Elect Lion Subhankar Sen, Vice District Governor II Elect Lion BS Rathod; Eminent Lions, Members of Lions Club of Gauhati, Lions & Leos of all major clubs of the district, family & friends from the media.
The outgoing President of the Club (2019-20) Lion Sunil Agarwal in his speech addressed and thanked each & every member for their love & support rendered during his tenure as President.

He also announced the prestigious “LIONS CLUB OF GAUHATI ANNUAL AWARD” (2019-20) and awarded 40 members for their dedicated Services in different categories.
Lion D.P. Bajaj, Past District Governor was honoured with “MOST RESPECTABLE LION” award whereas Lion Ajay Poddar was conferred with the “LION OF THE YEAR AWARD” for his dedicated and selfless service rendered during the lockdown period.
The newly installed President of Lions Club of Gauhati (2020-21) Lion Kishore Saboo in his inaugural address thanked the members for their overwhelming support & bestowing the responsibility on him to lead the largest Club of the District 322G having more than 250 members.
During his address, he highlighted the quote of Sir Henry Ford “Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is success”. He emphasised the need of having positive mindset to develop the community.
According to him, the spirit of Unity, Brotherhood & Services would take this organisation to a greater height. He assured that member’s concerns and opinions will be fully respected & embraced for the betterment and uplifting of the Club. He shared his Lionistic motto for the Year “SERVE TO EMPOWER” and stressed that all members should come together to empower each other, set new milestones in this Lionistic Year and contribute in building on the legacy of previous years.
He called upon members to come forward in making the country self-reliant along with the society through dedicated service works.
