CAR-T cell therapy, the President noted, stands as one of the most remarkable breakthroughs in medical science. While previously available only in developed nations, its exorbitant costs rendered it inaccessible to the majority of patients worldwide.

However, President Murmu emphasised that the therapy being unveiled today marks a paradigm shift, being the world’s most affordable CAR-T cell therapy. She commended the collaborative efforts between IIT Bombay, Tata Memorial Hospital, and industry partner ImmunoACT in developing India’s first CAR-T cell therapy.
