Indian Contingent Set for Paris 2024 Olympics: Know Key Dates And Event Times

GUWAHATI: India’s Paris 2024 Olympics schedule kicks off on Thursday, July 25 and over the course of the sports.

India's representation at the Paris 2024 Olympics will feature a team across various sports, with a focus on achieving greater success than their record-breaking Tokyo 2020 performance. The squad includes a formidable 29-member athletics team led by Neeraj Chopra, aiming for medals in 16 events. Following closely are 21 shooters, marking India's second-largest contingent for the Games.

The archers, led by Deepika Kumari and Tarundeep Rai, will kick off India's campaign with individual ranking rounds on July 25, preceding the official Opening Ceremony. Meanwhile, the shooting squad will compete in the mixed team 10m air rifle event at the National Shooting Center on July 27, presenting India's first medal opportunity.

Neeraj Chopra, defending champion in men’s javelin throw, will compete in qualifiers on August 6, with the finals set for two days later. Badminton star PV Sindhu, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, and boxer Lovlina Borgohain, among others, will also vie for glory in their respective disciplines from late July through early August.

In total, Indian athletes will participate in 16 sports at Paris 2024, including athletics, badminton, boxing, and shooting, among others, aiming to surpass their previous medal tally and make a mark on the global stage once again.
