India To Launch 6G Services Soon, PM Modi Announces At WTSA

GUWAHATI: India is set to launch 6G services soon, establishing itself among the first countries to introduce this advanced technology.

Following the successful rollout of 5G, the government is now accelerating its efforts to implement 6G capabilities. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made this announcement during the inauguration of the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), emphasising that India is currently the largest market for 5G globally.

The WTSA is being held in Delhi from October 15 to 24, making it the first time this prestigious event has been hosted in Asia. Delegates from 190 countries are coming together to discuss future standards for vital technologies, such as 6G, artificial intelligence, and big data.

In his address, Prime Minister Modi also highlighted the increasing threat of cyber crimes, urging greater vigilance and the development of enhanced safety measures to combat these challenges.
