GUWAHATI: India defeated Pakistan 5-3 in the final of the Men's Junior Asia Cup 2024 hockey to claim their record-extending fifth title.

Araijeet Singh Hundal was the standout player, scoring four goals, while Dilraj Singh added one. For Pakistan, Sufyan Khan scored twice and Hannan Shahid netted one.
Pakistan initially took the lead, but India quickly responded, leveling the score through Araijeet within a minute. India surged ahead 3-1, but Pakistan made a comeback to equalise at 3-3. Araijeet's two goals in the fourth quarter sealed India's victory.
The 2024 Men's Junior Asia Cup took place from November 26 to December 4 at the Hockey Oman Stadium in Muscat. This marked the 10th edition of the under-21 men's field hockey championship.
India, the two-time defending champions, successfully defended their title. Japan won the bronze medal, defeating Malaysia 2-1 in the third-place match.
