GUWAHATI: Four Indian Air Force pilots have been selected to be the astronauts on the Gaganyaan Mission, India's inaugural human spaceflight program. This announcement was made on Tuesday.

The chosen astronauts, Group Captain Prashanth Nair, Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, Group Captain Angad Pratap, and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla, underwent rigorous training at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Russia.
During his visit to Kerala, PM Modi conducted a review of the progress made on the Gaganyaan mission and presented 'astronaut wings' to the designated astronauts at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.
