India: 46-Year-Old Health Worker Dies Day After Taking COVID-19 Vaccine

GUWAHATI: A 46-year-old health worker in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh died a day after taking the vaccine for coronavirus.


Family members of deceased Mahipal said he was a little unwell before he took the vaccine but his condition deteriorated after taking the vaccine, national media reported. The Uttar Pradesh CMO (Chief Minister’s Office) has said that a post-mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.


Meanwhile, in Delhi, 51 people exhibited adverse conditions after receiving COVID vaccine.

Delhi health minister, Satyendra Jain, said that 51 minor and one serious adverse event were reported.


"The 22-year-old person who had serious adverse effects of the vaccination was admitted in an intensive care unit (ICU) of AIIMS," he said, adding that other 51 persons were kept under observation by the AEFI team and were discharged after 30 minutes when they felt normal.


In Kolkata, a 35-year-old nurse was admitted to the critical care unit (CCU) of a hospital after she lost consciousness minutes after taking the COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday.
