The 29th edition of Alcheringa is set to take place from January 30 to February 2 at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. This edition the festival promises an exciting array of over 100 competitions, performances, and social initiatives. This year’s theme, “Arcade Core,” will inspire creativity, diversity, and artistic brilliance, offering a unique blend of art, technology, and nostalgia.
The festival will kick off on January 30 with Saaz – The Classical Night, featuring renowned flautist Rakesh Chaurasia. This opening event will set the stage for three days of cultural celebration, kicking off the festival with artistic brilliance and a celebration of India’s rich classical heritage.
From January 31, Alcheringa will host various competitions across multiple categories:
Music: Classical solos, band performances, and more
Dance: Group performances, classical displays, and street battles
Drama: Theatrical performances and gripping plays
Art and Photography: Visual creativity through various mediums
Special Categories: Beatboxing battles, rap-offs, and open mics
The festival’s iconic Pro Nights will feature performances by:
- January 31: Jaggernaut – The Surprise Night
- February 1: Crescendo – Bollywood Night with Amit Trivedi
- February 2: Blitzkrieg – EDM Night, the grand finale of Alcheringa 2025
This year’s Arcade Core theme is inspired by the nostalgic world of arcade games, blending retro-futuristic aesthetics with modern innovation. The festival venue will be transformed into a vibrant landscape, offering an immersive experience that celebrates both creativity and technology.
