GUWAHATI: In a remarkable achievement, Gurdeep Singh, a doctoral student from the Department of Design at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati), has been honoured with the prestigious Alexander C. Williams Jr. Design Award for 2023 by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, USA.
This accolade holds special significance as Singh is the first international recipient of this esteemed award, which has been presented since its inception in 1969.
Adding to the laurels, IIT Guwahati can also take pride in its student teams that excelled in the Creative Shock Competition 2023, one of the world's largest case study competitions held in Vilnius, Lithuania.
These talented students secured remarkable global rankings, with their teams achieving the 2nd, 3rd, and 8th positions in the competition, marking an outstanding display of excellence and innovation.
