The theme for IISF 2024 is "Transforming India into an S&T-driven Global Manufacturing Hub." A diverse lineup of events will explore cutting-edge science, technology, and its industrial applications. Highlights include the "Chandrayaan – Museum of the Moon," featuring a seven-meter lunar model to celebrate India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission.
Other key attractions include a Mega Science and Technology Exhibition, student-focused events like "The New Nalanda," and initiatives such as "Make in India, Make for the World," aimed at promoting India’s manufacturing potential. Also, women’s participation in STEM will be celebrated through the "Nari Shakti" event, while the "Young Scientists Conclave" will bring together innovators under 45 to share insights and opportunities.
Additional events include hackathons, start-up showcases, and interactive exhibits, along with specialized sessions addressing earth sciences, nuclear energy, and emerging technologies like AI and robotics.
Since its inception in 2015, IISF has become the country’s largest science festival. This year marks the festival’s first-ever edition in Northeast India.
