GUWAHATI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly approved a hybrid hosting model for the 2025 Champions Trophy, with matches to be played in Pakistan and Dubai. This decision follows an agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

According to reports, Pakistan will host matches across three venues under the arrangement, while India’s matches, including knockout games if applicable, will take place in Dubai. The tournament is scheduled from February 19 to March 9, featuring eight teams divided into two groups.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, culminating in the final. This hybrid model mirrors the approach used during the Men’s 50-over Asia Cup in 2023.

The agreement also includes provisions for the 2026 T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan will not travel to India for their league-stage clash against India, which will instead be held in Colombo. However, the PCB will not receive financial compensation for forfeiting the chance to host India matches.

In exchange, the PCB reportedly secured hosting rights for an ICC Women’s tournament after 2027.
