The symptoms of coronavirus are similar to that of a common flu but there are a few symptoms that differ. If you are feeling ill and cannot tell whether you are suffering from a flu or Covid-19 then here are few points that can help you differentiate the two.

Coronavirus primarily affects a person’s lungs. Common signs include fever, respiratory symptoms, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In severe cases the infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death. Shortness of breath is not associated with colds or flu. If you have runny nose and are sneezing then it is unlikely you have Covid-19.

WHO has given some standard recommendations to prevent infection spread which includes regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.
