GUWAHATI: Guwahati is expected to witness foggy mornings and a dip in temperature on the days of Bihu, as per the weekly temperature forecast of the Regional Weather Forecasting Centre.
The minimum temperature on January 14 and 15 is expected to be around 10°C and 11°C in the areas around the Guwahati airport and IIT Guwahati, while Dispur is expected to have a minimum temperature of 11° and 12°.
The days after Bihu is also to see colder days as the temperatures on January 16 and 17 will hit a minimum of 10°C to maximum of 25°C.
Guwahati is finally experiencing the winter that it had missed during last month, which was relatively warmer December and New Years celebration this time.
The temperatures throughout the last month were consistently on the milder side, staying just above the 25-degree Celsius mark for the highest temperatures of the day, while going as low as 12 degrees Celsius.
According to IMD, on December 30, just a day before year end, Guwahati temperature recorded 27 degrees Celsius which was predicted to go as low as 13 degrees Celsius. The average temperature according to reports in Guwahati during December was recorded to be 24 degree Celsius maximum and 12 degrees minimum.
