The condition of the road at Adagudam from Lalganesh to Lokhra is deplorable. With dusty air and large potholes, commuting has become increasingly difficult. Traffic jams are on the rise. During rainy days, the situation becomes unimaginable.
This is the same stretch that was hurriedly repaired during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s road show before the last Lok Sabha election. After the rains started, it fell into complete disorder.
One of the business owners of the area said that the condition of the road has been bad for a long time. Water reaches knee-level during the rainy season. Almost every day, there are accidents. Some people complained three or four days ago, they put sand over it. Women riders face too many problems, and those who are aged are not able to drive on this road. Due to large potholes, cars and bikes get stuck. The road was last mended during the IPL match. After the rain started, it again went haywire. Even though some people have complained, nothing has been done so far.
A senior citizen said the road should be properly made. Temporarily covering potholes with sand won’t work. First, they need to address the waterlogging issue, perhaps by building a culvert, and then make the road.

Another commuter said that he often travels by this road. “It’s very difficult to commute through this road. There are large potholes covering the entire road. What used to take 10 minutes now takes 30 minutes. During the rainy season, cars splash water on bikers and pedestrians, making it even more difficult,” he said hoping the road will be mended at the earliest.
Another person said, “I’ve been having trouble with this road for a long time now. It’s too dusty, and one cannot stand here for long. We will be happy if the authorities take action quicker. There’s also a waterlogging issue. Due to water logging, there are potholes. Accidents happen frequently here. The road was mended before the recent cricket match, but after the rain started, the road condition worsened.”
Another nearby shopkeeper said, “The road is not proper; it is bad here and there. There is waterlogging during the rainy days and dust during the summer days. This is the condition of this road. All my things in the shop are being destroyed. The road was made in one night during the IPL time.”
While talking to a PWD official over the phone, he said, “During the rainy season, water from the hills floods the streets. We will soon build a cross-culvert, remove the water first, and then move on to repair the road.”
