GUWAHATI: The prime accused in the Boragaon Nizarapar gang rape case, Mrinal Rabha, has told the Gorchuk police that the victim was brought to the area by Rabin Das and another accused paying her ₹1,000.

Rabha further disclosed that the initial perpetrators were later joined by others, with at least nine individuals taking turns to assault the woman. The assault, which took place at the Durga Temple in Nizarapar, was recorded on video by Krishna Barman and Rabin Das, and the footage was subsequently circulated online.
As per the confession, the victim was brought from Jalukbari to the crime scene by two of the accused. The appalling act was compounded by the accused celebrating their crime by filming and sharing the videos.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from Gorchuk Police Station stated, “The accused mentioned paying money to the victim, but that is yet to be proven. We are still searching for the victim. We fear that she might have been murdered, and the visuals support the sorry state of the victim towards the end. However, the investigation is ongoing.”
The police have arrested all the nine accused in connection with the case. However, the whereabouts of the victim remain unknown, raising fears of the worst. Further updates are awaited as the investigation continues.
