GUWAHATI: In response to a formal complaint filed by Kuldip Goutam Sharma, the administration of Cotton University has decided to hold the results of the General Secretary post for the Students’ Union Election 2024-25 and initiate a vote recount. The recount process will begin on October 7, at 10 AM.

The venue for the recount will be announced by the competent authority in due course. This decision has been made with the approval of the Vice Chancellor of Cotton University. The recount aims to ensure a fair and transparent election process following concerns raised by the complainant.
Talking to G Plus, a student from RKB Hostel had earlier said, "Since Kuldip from out hostel lost by just one vote, we are demanding a recount. This is an injustice."
Further updates are awaited from the university administration, while the situation remains tense with many awaiting an official response.
