This rise in average price, amounting to ₹44.50 per kilogram, contributed to a total estimated turnover of ₹3,851 crore for the fiscal year, according to a press release from Dinesh Bihani, Secretary of the Guwahati Tea Auction Buyers Association.

Among the notable highlights of the year, teas from Bought Leaf Factories (BLFs) witnessed strong demand and favourable pricing. A line of Bejopathar teas fetched ₹471 per kilogram, while BLFs from Dhemaji district recorded the highest prices among all districts in Assam.

GTAC's operational model, which includes the lowest selling costs among all auction centres in the country, continues to attract sellers seeking better returns. The centre's efforts to promote Assam's single-origin teas also played a role in strengthening market performance.

The auction centre’s in-house tea lounge also contributed to retail and promotional activities, generating over ₹1 crore in turnover during the fiscal. The lounge has emerged as a new destination for tourists and consumers interested in authentic Assam teas over the years.
