GUWAHATI: Long queues of girls were seen in Guwahati to receive free scooty from the Assam government under the Pragyan Bharati scheme.
A large crowd gathered at ABC point in Guwahati at Brijmohan Hero showroom for registration.
G Plus spoke to a beneficiary, who came all the way from North Guwahati.
"I have come from North Guwahati and I have been waiting for more than an hour now. We have come for the Pragyan Bharati Scheme as the government told us they will provide us free scooty," she told G Plus.
The distribution centres will be different based on the geographical location of the beneficiaries. Under the scheme, the scooty distribution and registration have been enrolled in different parts of the state.
The Assam government had announced to gift a scooty to 22,000 girls who passed class 12 examination with first division from the state board this year under the Pragyan Bharati scheme of the state government.
