GUWAHATI: Guwahati continues to experience unusually high temperatures for November, with mercury levels reaching as high as 29 degree Celsius on Friday, November 29.

The same temperature is expected to persist on Saturday, November 30, according to weather forecasts from India Meteorological Department (IMD). This trend is likely to continue into the first week of December, with daily highs ranging between 28 and 29 degrees Celsius.
However, a slight drop is expected by December 5, when the temperature is predicted to dip to 27 degrees Celsius. Meteorologists suggest that while there may be temporary relief, with temperatures declining slightly during the following week, the mercury could rise again by December 13. The fluctuating temperatures point to an extended period of warm weather atypical for this time of year.
Residents have expressed concern over the lingering heat, which has disrupted the usual onset of cooler conditions in the region. Experts attribute the high temperatures to a combination of climatic factors, including atmospheric changes and delayed seasonal transitions.
While the city awaits the winter chill, authorities have advised citizens to take precautions against potential health impacts caused by the prolonged heat.
