The individual, identified as Mayanglambam Bobby Singh from Manipur’s Kakching district, was apprehended from a hotel in the Paltan Bazar area. Authorities discovered during the probe that he had been staying at another hotel in Beharbari before shifting locations to avoid detection.
Singh, 31, is wanted in connection with several insurgent-related activities in Manipur. Police sources confirmed that he was already under surveillance before the operation was carried out.
“The Manipur police will be arriving soon to take him away,” Mrinal Deka, Commissioner of Police (East), confirmed while talking to reporters. “We are conducting further investigation into the matter for the time being.”
The police have not ruled out additional arrests as the probe into Singh’s activities continues.
