Guwahati Police Arrest Four For Theft In Separate Raids

 

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police arrested four individuals involved in theft and handling stolen goods in two separate operations on Thursday, October 24.

A team from Jalukbari Police Station’s West Guwahati Police District (WGPD), acting on a tip-off, arrested two receivers of stolen items in connection with a burglary case. The accused, Rina Begum (38) of Kumarpara and Nijam Uddin of Bilasipara, were apprehended after a search of their premises led to the recovery of stolen gold ornaments, ₹50,000 in cash, utensils, and clothes.

In another raid, a Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) team from Panikhaiti Outpost under Pragjyotishpur Police Station raided a dump yard in Aamgaon following an intelligence report. The operation resulted in the recovery of 1.2 kg of electrical cable wire and other suspected stolen items. Two individuals, Mansur Ali (45) of Boko and Kapil Uddin (41) of Kasunmara, were arrested in connection with the raid.

Investigations are underway for both cases, as both operations highlight the Guwahati Police's ongoing efforts to crack down on theft-related activities in the region.
