GUWAHATI: The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI) issued an advisory on Thursday, December 15, 2022 asking travellers to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled departure. This is due to the increased passenger load and congestion at various touchpoints.

In anticipation of the impending Christmas season, this action has been taken to avoid the holiday rush. The airport authorities predict that as the holiday season approaches, the surge in passenger traffic will continue to grow.

The advisory issued by the Adani-group-controlled LGBI airport said, "We request all our passengers, transiting through the airport, to allocate additional time for travel-related formalities and mandatory security protocols.”

The advisory further said, "International and domestic passengers, travelling through our airport, are advised to reach at least 3 hours prior to their scheduled flight."

The advisory also stated that owing to increased VIP and passenger movement, congestion on roads and traffic are often diverted.
