GUWAHATI: The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport will be implementing new parking rates from January 10, in order to facilitate affordable parking for private vehicles, especially those that come to drop off or pick up passengers and remain in the Airport premises for some time.
High parking fees for private vehicles at the LGBI Airport has always been a major concern for passengers. Therefore, the Airport Authority has decided to implement new parking rates from January 10.
As per the new rules, there will be no parking charge for vehicles for the first 10 minutes. From 10 minutes to 30 minutes, Rs 30 will be charged for parking in the Airport premises. Post that, the parking fee is Rs 80 for light vehicles and Rs 120 for heavy vehicles like buses, trucks, tempos, etc.
As of now, every vehicle entering the premises of the LGBI Airport has been paying Rs 30 upon entry.
Further, PRO of LGBI Airport Ruma Devi informed G Plus that night parking will also be made available for passenger vehicles at designated locations within the Airport premises at Rs 200 per night.
