Guwahati: GMC Seals Two Eateries In Christian Basti For Health Risks

 

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) and the Food Safety Department conducted a raid on Wednesday, October 30, leading to the closure of two eateries in the Christian Basti area.

The eateries have been identified as Keri Beri and Tando Zing.

The raid allegedly revealed multiple breaches of health and safety regulations, with officials at the scene describing unsanitary conditions such as neglected kitchen hygiene, improper waste disposal, and even rotten food in the kitchens.

Following these findings, both the eateries were sealed indefinitely for the time being.

The authorities further stated that these establishments would remain closed until they meet the required health and operational standards, prioritising public health and safety.
