Guwahati Gears Up For Pulse Polio Vaccination Programme

GUWAHATI: A meeting was convened at the Kamrup Metro District Commissioner's Office on February 15 to strategise the execution of the upcoming pulse polio vaccination campaign slated to commence nationwide on March 3, targeting children.

Chaired by Additional District Commissioner Tridip Kumar Konwar, who oversees the Health Department, the meeting aimed to coordinate efforts and ensure effective implementation of the vaccination programme.

With approximately 4000 doctors and health workers deployed for the initiative, meticulous planning was discussed to ensure comprehensive coverage. The pulse polio vaccine will be administered at designated booths, including hospitals and health centers, on March 3, the campaign's kickoff day.

Furthermore, to reach every child, health workers will conduct door-to-door visits on March 4 and 5, focusing on vaccinating those who may have missed the initial phase on March 3.
