GUWAHATI: A fire broke out in the Bhangagarh area of Guwahati today, August 20, at around 10:30 AM inside a biryani shop. The shop is located on the ground floor of a building below the Bhangagarh flyover. As per reports, two cylinders exploded but the actual cause of the fire is still being investigated.
The shop was completely burnt down by the fire while also burning parts of the nearby shops. The fire also rose up to the first floor of the building where the shop is located, doing some significant damage on the first floor as well.
While speaking to G Plus, a bystander said, “I work at the GMC parking lot. On noticing the smoke, I ran to the spot only to realise that the store was on fire and the flames were only getting bigger. We informed the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Bhangagarh Police Station and the fire department arrived immediately.”
The fire has been doused successfully with the help of Five Fire tenders.
