Guwahati City Bus Fares To Be Regulated Soon, E-Ticketing To Be Introduced

 

GUWAHATI: The Kamrup District's Regional Transport Authority Board (RTA) in a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner and the President of RTA Pallav Gopal Jha, discussed an action plan to regulate and reconstitute city bus fares, introduce e-ticketing, install station name plates in stoppages and to strictly impose and implement the Supreme Court's guidelines and directions regarding safety protocols for school buses.

The meeting of the Regional Transport Authority was held in presence of officials, stakeholders and representatives from transport organisations on Friday, July 8.

An action plan to regulate and reconstitute bus fares has been taken up which includes setting up station name signages in bus stoppages.

Various other issues pertaining to the regulation of city buses and cab aggregators, etc. were also discussed. Cab aggregators have been directed to put an end to inconveniences caused to cab app users because of hassling fares. The RTA is also revising and reconstituting fares charged by cab service providers and commission rates deduced by them on rides.
