GUWAHATI: A massive fire broke out at a tyre and body construction garage in Guwahati’s Beharbari area on Thursday evening, sparking chaos and causing significant damage to vehicles and property. The fire reportedly began around 7:30 PM, and the flames quickly spread, fuelled by the large stockpile of tyres stored within the premises.
Speaking to GPlus, a local resident described the scene, stating, “Around 4-5 vehicles have been burnt down, and the stocked tyres in the garage worsened the situation. The fire department has not been able to douse the fire till now.”
The Fire and Emergency Services (F&ESS) responded immediately, deploying approximately five rescue vans to the site in an attempt to contain the blaze. “Our teams are working hard to bring the fire under control,” an F&ESS official reported. However, as of the latest update, firefighters were still battling the flames, and no injuries have been reported thus far.
Further details on the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are awaited as authorities continue their efforts at the scene.
