GRP Seizes 45 Bullet Bikes From Guwahati Railway Station In A Week

GUWAHATI: The Government Railway Police (GRP) has till now seized 45 bullet motorcycles since October 2 from the Guwahati Railway Station. These bikes were allegedly stolen and were brought to Guwahati Railway Station via train parcel from Delhi.

The GRP had also arrested five persons in connection with the case. It is to be mentioned that the railway police authorities had conducted a raid at the parcel office at the Guwahati Railway Station and recovered 13 bullet motorcycles on October 2.

The officials also examined the numbers pertaining to the motorcycles and found out that these were stolen.

“On October 2, 13 bikes were seized after which we got the clue about the modus operandi that lies in stealing the bikes and bringing it here through train parcel. Following which we searched the parcel go-down and seized 29 bikes. In total 45 bikes have been seized,” SP Railway Police, Rajveer Singh, told ANI.  

He further added, “The investigating officer will go to Delhi to know about the details about who parcelled the bikes and who was supposed to receive it in Guwahati.”
