GUWAHATI: In the past year, the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has treated over 9 lakh OPD cases.

Talking to GPlus, Dr. Abhijit Sarma, the Superintendent of GMCH said, "In the last year, GMCH has treated a total of 997,636 OPD patients and 113,367 IPD patients."
The data further highlights the quarterly trends in patient attendance. From April to June 2023, the OPD attendance stood at 248,066, with 27,231 patients admitted as inpatients (IPD). Subsequently, from July to September 2023, OPD attendance rose to 277,927, accompanied by 28,876 IPD patients.

Moving forward, from October to December 2023, the OPD attendance slightly decreased to 243,945, while the number of IPD patients increased to 29,529. Finally, between January and March 2024, the OPD saw 227,688 patients seeking medical assistance, with 27,731 patients admitted as IPD cases.
