GMC Raids 18 Unauthorised Spa And Salons In Guwahati In Two Days

 

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) raided 11 spas and salons across the city on Wednesday, November 17, while seven more were raided on November 16.

The Corporation has geared up its vigilance on spas, salons, and beauty parlours to nab violators flaunting GMC rules and by-laws and to prevent untoward activities.

The raids were led by the Medical officer of the GMC Kumar Partha Pratim who told G Plus that the establishments were raided after reports of these working without a trade license. 

A total of 11 unisex spas and salons were raided in two of the biggest malls in the GS road area of Guwahati. Out of the 11 spas and salons, four were found to be closed and seven were running their business without a valid trade license. Notices have been served and penalties imposed on all the seven spas and salons. "We will take strict action if they do not comply further," Kumar told G Plus. 

Seven more unisex spas and salons were also raided in the Lakhtokia, Nepali Mandir and Ganeshguri areas of Guwahati by the GMC on November 16. Penalties were imposed on four out of the seven spas and salons that were raided due to the non-availability of valid trade licenses, the other three were found to be closed.
