GUWAHATI: The Department of Law and Order, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Royal Government of Bhutan, has issued a public notification regarding the temporary closure of international border gates along the southern region of Bhutan.
This measure is implemented in preparation for the upcoming primary round of National Assembly elections in Bhutan.
According to the announcement, the specified border gates are set to be closed from 6 PM on November 29, 2023, until 6 PM on November 30, 2023. The decision aims to ensure a secure and controlled environment during the electoral process.
The general public is urged to plan their travel arrangements accordingly, taking into account the temporary closure of these international border gates.
Additionally, individuals are requested to refrain from traveling through the specified border gates during the mentioned duration.
