GUWAHATI: In a recent step towards advancing animal husbandry, the foundation stone for the IVF Laboratory and Dairy Farm Automation was laid at Khanapara, Guwahati on January 5.
This transformative initiative is part of the Rashtriya Gokul Mission and is aimed at empowering farmers through on-site embryo transfer of superior indigenous cattle breeds.
The distinguished event witnessed the presence of Assam's Cabinet Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Atul Bora, who graced the occasion with the initiation of this pioneering project.
The IVF Laboratory and Dairy Farm Automation project aims to promote the conservation and development of indigenous cattle breeds. The automation of dairy farms and the implementation of advanced reproductive technologies like in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) will contribute to enhancing the quality of cattle breeds, thereby benefiting local farmers.
Minister Bora emphasised the significance of this initiative in the context of modernising agriculture and animal husbandry practices. He highlighted the potential impact on farmers' livelihoods through improved cattle breeding techniques.
