Former Congress Leaders Gautam Roy And Santiuse Kujur Officially Joins BJP

GUWAHATI: Veteran Congress leaders from Assam, Santiuse Kujur and Gautam Roy officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Guwahati on August 11.

Earlier, on August 10, both the leaders resigned from the Congress party.

Kujur had written in his resignation letter, “With Regret I would like to inform that I am tendering my resignation from the party with immediate effect and this purely my personal decision. I have worked in the Congress party for more than 13 years and I have been pleased to be a part of the leading political party.” He also wished for the party’s “bright future” and hoped that the party will help in changing the country for better.

It is to be mentioned that Kujur’s tenure as the MP of Rajya Sabha ended in the month of June 2019.

on the other hand, Gautam Roy sent his resignation letter to Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president, Ripun Bora and quit the party.

It is to be mentioned that along with Roy and Kujur, Hiranya Kumar Bhuyan, former president of Assam Pradesh Youth Congress, also joined the BJP on August 11.
