GUWAHATI: Former BJP MP from Assam’s Tezpur RP Sharma, joined the Congress party in Delhi on February 24.
RP Sharma was accompanied by former Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi and Congress general secretary KC Venugopal, welcomed Sharma to the party.
Speaking on the occasion, RP Sharma said, "My grandfather was a Congress man and I will also work as a member of the party."

"Congress and the RSS have had a long relationship," he added.
Ram Prasad Sarmah, the former BJP party leader served as the Lok Sabha MP representing Tezpur in 2014-2019.
