GUWAHATI: Five terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in in Kadder village of Behibagh in Kulgam district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday, December 19. The gunfight, which began late Wednesday night, also resulted in two security personnel sustaining injuries.

The operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated the presence of suspected terrorists in the Kadder area of Behibagh. Security forces initiated a cordon and search operation, which led to an exchange of fire when the terrorists opened heavy, indiscriminate fire on the forces.
The Indian Army's Chinar Corps confirmed that a joint operation between the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police was carried out in response to specific intelligence.
“OP KADER, Kulgam. On 19 Dec 24, based on specific intelligence input regarding presence of terrorists, a Joint Operation launched by #IndianArmy & @JmuKmrPolice at Kader, Kulgam. Suspicious activity was observed by vigilant troops and on being challenged, terrorists opened indiscriminate and heavy volume of fire. Own troops effectively retaliated. Operation is in progress” the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps posted on X.
