Five From Assam Bag Sahitya Akademi Award 2023

 

GUWAHATI: The Sahitya Akademi on Friday announced the list of winners for 2023, and five from Assam featured in the list of winners in different categories.

Rothindranath Goswami was honoured with the prestigious Bal Sahitya Award for his remarkable contributions to children's literature.

Among the other winners is Jintu Gitartha, who has been conferred the Yuva Sahitya Akademi Award.

Mainaosri Daimary has been conferred the Yuva Sahitya Akademi Award in the Bodo language for enriching Bodo literature with his thought-provoking works.

Pratima Nandi Narzary has been conferred the Bal Sahitya Akademi Award for his outstanding contribution to children's literature.

Further, Naina Adhikary has been conferred with Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar in Nepali for her book Ghat-Pratighatika Udgarharu.

Taking to Twitter, the Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and AYUSH congratulated the awardees and wrote, “Congratulations to Shri Jintu Gitartha, Smt Mainaosri Daimary and Smt Naina Adhikari on winning the #SahityaAkademi Yuva Puraskar 2023 in Assamese, Bodo & Nepali. Your works reflect the youthful exuberance of India's literary caravan. Best wishes for your future endeavours.”
