GUWAHATI: Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has announced plans to visit India later this year, following a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi about potential technology collaborations. The announcement came a day after Modi shared details of his discussion with Musk, which centered on innovation and expanding partnerships between India and Musk’s global ventures.

Musk retweeted Modi’s post, describing the conversation with Modi as "an honor" and expressed excitement about his upcoming visit to India. "It was an honor to speak with PM Modi. I am looking forward to visiting India later this year!" Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
On the previous day, PM Modi took to X to highlight the importance of their discussion, stating, "Spoke to @elonmusk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year." He further added, "We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation. India remains committed to advancing our partnerships with the US in these domains."
The discussions between Musk and Modi come at a pivotal moment, with Tesla reportedly nearing its entry into the Indian market. Additionally, Musk's satellite internet company, Starlink, is eyeing expansion into India.
