GUWAHATI: An 81-year-old cancer patient undergoing treatment at the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) died after jumping from the fourth floor of the Cancer Institute on Monday morning, December 23.

The incident occurred around 9:30 AM.
Talking to GPlus, an official from the institute said, "The patient is a resident of Lumding, had undergone surgery in August to remove a tumor and was receiving radiation therapy. He was sitting on a chair near the window when he suddenly jumped."
The hospital authorities and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
